i love the lack of a border around the second panel, and the figures breaking up the borders.
Any comic strip character will tell you that panel borders can be restrictive and stifling. A panel without borders relaxes them, which makes them more apt to try new things. It’s all psychological.
that’s why i keep all my comic characters strictly confined in panels. i can’t have them getting all crazy on me.
