Buck has NEVER shown any hint of sentience until now. Oh sure, he can exclaim in pictures that he wants a carrot (who *doesn’t* do that?), but THIS requires a whole new level of cognitive ability. What’s next? A blackberry?
Buck gets coddled a lot, and therefore has little incentive to do much for himself. I never really think of him as much dumber/smarter than anyone else.
